Florence Welch and her backing band ‘The Machine’ came into prominence in early 2009. The flame-haired Florence's powerful and unique vocal style has received immense praise across the music media and in the mainstream. Her debut album Lungs was a UK top seller upon its release in 2009, spending over 58 weeks in the UK Album Chart, eventually reaching Number One in January 2010. It went on the win the Best British album at the 2010 BRIT Awards.
